My Top 5 Business Books

Over the past two years (thanks to my daily commute), I’ve gotten back into daily reading. This has been 100% because of Audible and discovering that Audiobooks are the best way for me to do something productive with what is ultimately dead time for me.

However, the most exciting aspect has been just how much my eyes have been opened by some of the amazing books I have been fortunate to consume/read/listen over the last 18 months. So with this in mind, here are my recommendations for books that have had a major impact on me.

1) Tribes by Seth Godin

This book seriously resonated with me; by making me realise the immense potential we have to lead and make big change.  In the book, Seth Godin argues that the Internet has ended mass marketing and revived a human social unit from the distant past: tribes. Founded on shared ideas and values, tribes give ordinary people vast power.  Get it here or watch his TED talk below.

2) Bold – by Peter Diamandis & Steven Kotler

No book on earth has made me as excited to be a human being as Bold did. The NET result was me reading this twice, in two weeks. A mind-blowing look into the exponential technologies, 10X mindset and how entrepreneurs can leverage the crowd to change the world. This is nothing short of incredible. Get it here or watch the book trailer below.

3) Profit First – By Mike Michalowicz

This book has a massive direct impact on my businesses and most importantly the profits I have made. For years, it seemed as though it was a cash eating machine and that that was simply part of scaling a business…..Yep I was doing it all wrong and this book opened my eyes. 4) Virtual Freedom – By Chris Ducker

Last month I spoke about the immense value I received from reading the Virtual Freedom Book. So much so that I was fortunate to be asked by the Author to appear on an interview coinciding with the one year launch of the book. The biggest takeaways from reading this were wrapped around the power of building my own team. This has ultimately launched my business to a whole new level. Listen to the podcast episode below – or head along to Chris’s Main Site for all of the notes and resources. Get the book here

5) Zero-to-One by Peter Thiel

This book has given me tremendous insight into what it takes to be an everlasting, impact focused company. The premise is centred around the concept on becoming a monopoly by dominating a small group and gradually scaling into a larger market share. Grab the book here
